You should store your train in a dry protected area and away from sunlight or florescent lights....to protect the paint and materials from deteriorating. TrainOasis provides boxes that enable you to accomplish that and also provides high quality foam which is designed to ensure your trains are protected over time, free from harmful chemicals that can damage the trains in storage which you may experience with lower quality foams. Obviously make sure you don't store anything heavy on top of your trains or their storage boxes, to make sure that no unhealthy pressure is applied to the boxes. Obviously, boxes and foam will help minimize this....but there are limitations to any protection...so just make sure you don't do anything that's against "common sense" (for example, don't store those weights you stopped using on top of your train storage boxes) and it'll ensure you're trains are protected over the long run.
